Case Study: Interim National General Manager at a Higher Education Institution
Due to an impending restructure, the University contacted the Gig Executive team to assist in securing an interim leader to provide leadership in the learning, teaching and student engagement function of the Melbourne Campus.
The Gig Executive team screened our extensive ecosystem and quickly produced a short list of candidates with proven success in leadership roles within the specialised VET sector. On top of the list, and ultimately the winning Gig Executive candidate, had over 15 years’ experience in managing operations, sales and business development functions in the tertiary education sector.
After a successful 6-month engagement, the interim candidate was offered a permanent, more senior role of Director of the College. In addition to her existing responsibilities, they led innovation in VET within the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education Innovation portfolio, manages the compliance obligations of the College, contributes to strategy development, directs staff in industry engagement, drives student recruitment, and is the key inter University liaison with faculties and divisions.
