Ms Lucy Cohen has been appointed as Director of Community Engagement with Trinity Grammar School

With demonstrated background working in the Independent School sector, Lucy brings experience across Development and Marketing including bequests and capital campaigns.  Since mid-2018 Lucy has held the position of Associate Director Development with Xavier College where she is primarily responsible for major gifts, bequests and the annual appeal.  Lucy reviewed the bequest program with a view to optimise growth and development, and significantly acquired nine new bequestors within a 12-month period.  In conjunction with consultants Lucy coordinated a major feasibility study for a capital campaign, liaising closely with the Advancement sub-commttee of the Foundation.  With the changed environment due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Lucy designed and implemented a revised strategy for the annual appeal, resulting in the best ever response.  She also designed and implemented an inaugural donor newsletter to maintain engagement during the lockdown period that drew excellent feedback.

Before this Lucy was the Director of Development with Genazzano FJC College with responsibility for marketing, enrolments, community relations and fundraising.  With a team of seven direct reports Lucy provided strategic leadership on marketing and enrolments.  Lucy directed a market research project to establish brand identity and personas for the College, while also creating an inaugural end-to-end enrolments strategy.

Previously Lucy spent seven years with Melbourne Girls Grammar.  As Bequests Co-ordinator she undertook a full review of bequests pending and received, growing the bequest prospect base to over 80.  Earlier Lucy spent five years as the Director of Community with accountability across Enrolments, Fundraising, Marketing and Alumni.  Lucy increased Annual Giving results annually over a four-year period, undertook a refresh of the School website increasing traffic by 100% over 12 months and established strategic relationships with like schools across Australia.  Lucy also worked in conjunction with the Deputy Principal to reshape the enrolments strategy.  As Director of Community, Lucy’s role also incorporated Major Events, Stewardship, Parent Volunteer Co-ordination, Archives and School Communications.
