Case Study: Interim Head of Senior School at a leading Independent Girls’ School
THE BRIEF
The Gig Executive team was engaged by one of Melbourne’s leading independent girls’ school to assist with the urgent appointment of an Interim Head of Senior School whilst the search was undertaken for the permanent position.
Following the departure of the Head of Senior School, an immediate need was identified to bring in an experienced senior school executive who was able to work closely with the Principal. They would be responsible for the leadership and day to day management of the staff and maximising the learning opportunities, personal development and welfare of the senior students.
THE SOLUTION
Working to a tight timeframe for the interim to commence at start of the school year, the Gig Executive team activated our extensive independent school network. We identified several possible candidates and jointly assessed their suitability and availability to fulfil this important bridging appointment.
The successful Interim Head of School relocated from regional Australia. They are passionate about staff development and student learning and have over 35 years’ experience working as a senior school educator up to Principal in Australia and overseas.
THE IMPACT
Working closely with the Principal and their senior executive team the Gig Executive had an immediate impact at the school and contributed towards creating a culture of positive learning and relationships amongst the senior students. They continue to positively impact the school and provide experienced leadership during a period of change.
